Semester 1 timetable — Section B

Effective from 07-09-2026 · Session 2026–2030 · Venue: Block B, Room No. B-109 · Transcribed from the officially issued, Principal-signed timetable.

If your section's room, instructor, or timing differs, this was transcribed from one section's official copy — check your own issued timetable for anything that looks different.

Grading scale is PU's officially published scale for undergraduate semester programs. The elective slot is confirmed as Introduction to Economics (ECON-101) from your section's official timetable. Individual instructors may round marks slightly — confirm with your department if a grade looks borderline.

PU's Semester Rules & Regulations require at least 75% attendance in every course to be allowed to sit that course's final exam.

Credit hours default to 16 (confirmed for Semesters 1–2 from PU's official scheme). Edit them if your later semesters differ. Leave a semester's GPA blank to exclude it from the projection.

Introduction to Statistics (CSTA-101)

Meanx̄ = Σx / n
Median (odd n)value at position (n+1)/2
RangeMax − Min
Variance (population)σ² = Σ(x − x̄)² / n
Standard deviationσ = √σ²
Coefficient of variationCV = (σ / x̄) × 100%
Addition rule (mutually exclusive)P(A∪B) = P(A) + P(B)
Addition rule (general)P(A∪B) = P(A) + P(B) − P(A∩B)
Multiplication rule (independent)P(A∩B) = P(A) × P(B)
PermutationsnPr = n! / (n−r)!
CombinationsnCr = n! / [r!(n−r)!]

Calculus (SMTH-101)

Power rule (derivative)d/dx(xⁿ) = n·xⁿ⁻¹
Product rule(fg)' = f'g + fg'
Quotient rule(f/g)' = (f'g − fg') / g²
Chain ruled/dx[f(g(x))] = f'(g(x))·g'(x)
Derivative of eˣd/dx(eˣ) = eˣ
Derivative of ln(x)d/dx(ln x) = 1/x
Derivative of sin(x)d/dx(sin x) = cos x
Derivative of cos(x)d/dx(cos x) = −sin x
Power rule (integral)∫xⁿ dx = xⁿ⁺¹/(n+1) + C, n ≠ −1
Integral of 1/x∫(1/x) dx = ln|x| + C

Introduction to Economics (ECON-101)

Price elasticity of demandEd = %ΔQd / %ΔP
Total revenueTR = Price × Quantity
GDP (expenditure approach)GDP = C + I + G + (X − M)

Active recall

Instead of re-reading notes, close them and try to write out or explain the concept from memory. Struggling to recall strengthens memory far more than passive review.

Spaced repetition

Review material at increasing intervals (day 1, day 3, day 7, day 14) instead of cramming once. The flashcards tab in this hub is built for exactly this.

Feynman technique

Explain a concept in plain language as if teaching a beginner. Wherever your explanation gets stuck or vague, that's exactly what to go back and re-study.

Cornell notes

Split each page into notes, cue/questions, and a summary. The Notepad tab in this hub is a simple place to keep exactly this kind of running notes during lectures.

Pomodoro technique

Study in focused 25-minute blocks with 5-minute breaks. Use the Timers tab — it's already set up for this.

Interleaving

Mix problem types within one study session (e.g. alternate derivative rules) instead of drilling one type repeatedly. It's harder in the moment but builds more transferable understanding.

Tap a card to flip it.

Pomodoro study timer

25:00

Mode: Focus

Custom countdown timer

05:00

Use this for timed quizzes, a reading sprint, or anything else with a deadline.

Next lecture countdown

This is live on the Timetable tab and the banner at the top of the page — it automatically counts down to your next class, then counts down time left once it starts.

If you miss a lecture or don't follow it in class, use these to catch up on that exact topic before the next class.

Honest note on this section: I verified the specific named channels below are real, active, and genuinely teach in Hindi/Urdu. For a few categories I've also added a "curated search" link — this opens a pre-built YouTube search instead of one exact channel, so you always land on real, current, relevant videos even for topics where I couldn't personally verify one specific channel URL.

Python (اردو / हिन्दी)

Excel (اردو / हिन्दी)

SQL (اردو / हिन्दी)

R Programming (اردو / हिन्दी)

Data Analytics / Data Science (اردو / हिन्दी)

Channel popularity and upload activity change constantly — if a specific video in a playlist looks outdated, use the curated search links to find the latest version of the same topic.

Important honesty note: I'm not linking to any PDF downloads here. Free "PDF" copies of copyrighted textbooks online are almost always pirated, and I won't point you to those. These are legitimate ways to get the same books.

Introduction to Statistical Theory — Sher Muhammad Chaudhry & Shahid Kamal

A widely used Pakistani statistics textbook, commonly referenced in Pakistani university-level statistics courses. Available at Ilmi Kitab Khana and most Urdu Bazar, Lahore booksellers.

Probability and Statistics for Engineers and Scientists — Walpole, Myers, Myers & Ye

A standard international reference for introductory statistics and probability, often used alongside local textbooks.

Calculus: Early Transcendentals — James Stewart, or Thomas' Calculus

Two of the most widely used calculus textbooks worldwide, both very commonly used as course references in Pakistani BS programs.

Principles of Economics — N. Gregory Mankiw

The standard introductory economics textbook used in most first economics courses globally.

I could not confirm the exact prescribed textbook list for your specific CSDA course outline from any official source — these are the titles most commonly used for equivalent courses at Pakistani universities. Always confirm the exact edition and title your instructor wants. Your college's own library (College of Statistical Sciences has its own reading room) is the most reliable and free place to actually get these.
